About Tim Penix
Tim Penix, a retired armed services veteran, originally enlisted in the U.S. Marines Corps in 1979. He spent six years completing various assignments and worked in such areas as logistics and intelligence analysis. From there, he went on to serve 16 years with the California Army National Guard as an administrative officer. Throughout his many tours and assignments, Tim Penix received a number of awards for his high level of achievement.
Penix subsequently turned his career focus to health and integrative medicine. He began working as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor at Newbury Park Athletic Club, where he taught everything from mat Pilates and yoga to boot camp classes.
He studied integrative medicine at Duke University Medical Center and completed studies in health behavior change. In 2010, he began his current position as health coach for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Outside of work, Tim Penix enjoys being involved with sports. Although he currently does not play any sport, he has coached youth basketball and football and spent two years coaching a high school lacrosse team, helping the players reach the finals.
Penix enjoys watching professional sports and follows the Green Bay Packers football team. His interest in sports also extends to the realm of sports medicine, and he enjoys keeping up with the various changes in the field.
